11 September Rally




Rally in Məhsul Stadium today started at 5 o’clock.  Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular front party Ali Karimov said in his speech.

We were protesting against 26 september referendum and requiring freedom for political prisoners.



“I can see here representatives of NIDA, REAL and other unions representatives. All of us have one problem. We want freedom and democracy.  He also talked about political prisoners. He said “ There are more than 100 political prisoners in jails today. Among them there are Ilqar Mammadov, Fuad Gahramanli, Mammad Ibrahim and others.



Fuad Ahmadli political prisoner’s father Zafar also gave speech in rally. He said that his son is no guilty at all. He asked international organizations for support to stop political arrests.

We were holding Azerbaijan flags. Hundreds of people had gathered in stadium.

When I was going home police stopped few youth before me, I ran into subway in order not to get arrested by policemen.

Give us freedom of speech, Ilham Aliyev!



The next rally will be on the 17th of September at 3 oclock at Mahsul Stadium near Inshaatchilar Metro Station.

If you had an opportunity to meet president, what would you tell him?

I remember as a kid I would read a lot of books. I started with reading different tales. One thing I never forget and would love to apply to my country today. In those tales King (Padishah) would wear old clothes and would become unrecognizable. He would walk around the city, talk to people ask them questions about "How the King manages the country? What do you think of King?" People would never recognize him and share their problems or positive opinions about the King. At the end King would go back to his kingdom and start doing reforms for the best future of his kingdom. But today? Do president really hears people's problems? If someone would talk about the problems of country today he/she would get arrested as some of the NIDA members.
