I remember as a kid I would read a lot of books. I started with reading different tales. One thing I never forget and would love to apply to my country today. In those tales King (Padishah) would wear old clothes and would become unrecognizable. He would walk around the city, talk to people ask them questions about "How the King manages the country? What do you think of King?" People would never recognize him and share their problems or positive opinions about the King. At the end King would go back to his kingdom and start doing reforms for the best future of his kingdom.
But today? Do president really hears people's problems? If someone would talk about the problems of country today he/she would get arrested as some of the NIDA members.
"Azadliq" (Freedom) Radio Station has interviewed random people from different proffesional backgorunds in the city of Baku. The question was: if you had an opportunity to meet president what would you tell him?
The answers were:
- I would wish him health and ask about the Karabakh problem.
-When will the salaries of doctors and teachers increase?
-Does he love his people, does he ever wonder about our problems?
-I am a lawyer and I would ask him about people's rights and freedom. When will the people's rights and freedom be protected?
-I will never ever have chance to meet president, I am not a child. Even the opinion of meeting president sounds funny to my ears. I can not meet president. He never walks, he always goes by car.
( says the old Russian Lady)
-Why in Russia people can get their pensions in earlier age, but in Azerbaijan late?
-I wish him long life and health.
-Increase the teacher's salary
-Decrease the taxes. We are sold useless things for 1000 AZN.
The woman in expensive car says " I have everything I would tell him thanks"
-I would tell him 3 things "Follow the rules, increase salaries and have democratic elections"
-Who am I to tell the president to do something? The old man says.
