President's wife: New vice president



Wife of Azerbaijan President
Mehriban Aliyeva is vice president now
Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has appointed his wife as vice president. It means If he dies Mehriban can take over his responsibilities as a president.
New changing in constitution is just tightening Aliyev’s power in our country.
Before Mehriban Aliyeva was first lady of Azerbaijan.
Vice president position has been established after changes in constitution which was introduced in 2016’s referendum.
Aliyevs are thinking of new ways of turning Azerbaijan into monarchy. They have been in power since 1993.
People have no freedom. When people want to stand for their rights they are arrested and accused of smuggling, drugs and hooliganism.

If you had an opportunity to meet president, what would you tell him?

I remember as a kid I would read a lot of books. I started with reading different tales. One thing I never forget and would love to apply to my country today. In those tales King (Padishah) would wear old clothes and would become unrecognizable. He would walk around the city, talk to people ask them questions about "How the King manages the country? What do you think of King?" People would never recognize him and share their problems or positive opinions about the King. At the end King would go back to his kingdom and start doing reforms for the best future of his kingdom. But today? Do president really hears people's problems?
