Demonstrations in 5 regions of Azerbaijan




People have started to do demonstrations in the following regions of Azerbaijan:

-Lankaran, Siyazan, Agcabadi, Beylagan, Fizuli.  Executive power of Lankaran and Siyazan have approved information about demonstration in these regions.  But executive power of other regions  have denied the information about demonstration in their regions.

Citizen from Agcabadi have said “ One person wanted to jump from the roof of house and suicide”

Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan party Siyavush Novruzov have said “The reason of demonstration is increase in costs and products”

Siyazan region executive power Zafar Aliyev said “ People are protesting because of increase in cost of flour and other products”

Citizens in Lankaran have tried to close the Alat-Astara road. More than 100 people have participated in rally. Police have mentioned “ We talked to people and they decided to stop the demonstration”

But Lankaran resident have given interview to bbc Azerbaijan and have mentioned that police did not allow us to do demonstration.

Siyavush Novruzov have mentioned “ the cost of local products have not increased but the cost of products which are brought from foreign countries have increased a little.  Ministry of Economics should take a good control of it”

If you had an opportunity to meet president, what would you tell him?

I remember as a kid I would read a lot of books. I started with reading different tales. One thing I never forget and would love to apply to my country today. In those tales King (Padishah) would wear old clothes and would become unrecognizable. He would walk around the city, talk to people ask them questions about "How the King manages the country? What do you think of King?" People would never recognize him and share their problems or positive opinions about the King. At the end King would go back to his kingdom and start doing reforms for the best future of his kingdom. But today? Do president really hears people's problems?
