Government authorities have targeted the Youth activists. They are arrested, tortured and ill treated in prison.
Among political prisoners there are: Youth activists, journalists, bloggers, human right defenders, religion followers and close family members of activists.
Following are the lists of political prisoners starting from 2013 year.
Aziz Mammadov: Aziz Mammadov is a member of NIDA Civic Movement. He was arrested on 2013 March 7. He is charged on possessing drug.
Rashadat Akhundov: Rashadat is co-founder of NIDA CIVIC Movement. He has graduated from TUrkish Private High School. Rashadat gained his bachelors degree from Azerbaijan State Economic University.At University he was in the special talents group specializing in finance and accounting. After graduating from University he gained Masters Degree from CEU Business School in the field of Business Administration degree in 2007.

Rashad Hasanov:
He studied in Turkish Private High School and was awarded by gold medal on Mathematics. Hasanov continued his studies at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey. At the same time he led the METU Azerbaijani Students Association with more than 100 members. In 2009–2010, Hasanov was the vice-president of the Azerbaijani Students and Alumni Association of over 300 students.
After he graduated from METU in 2010, Rashad was accepted into the MA program in International Security and Terrorism. However, he did not have enough financing to cover his full expenses. Also his request from the Ministry of Education to finance his studies under the State Program on Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad in 2007–2015 was turned down.
He was arrested on March 14 they Rashad Hasanov was arrested. He was charged with illegal possession of explosives and drugs.
Parviz Hashimli
He is a journalist of "Bizim Yol" newspaper and director moderator.az
He was arrested on 17 september 2013. He is accused on smuggling firearms from Iran to Azerbaijan, illegally carried and stored them.
Hilal Mammadov
He is a chief reader of "Tolishi Sado" (The voice of Talish) newspaper and was arrested on 2012 June. Talish is one of the ethnic minorities in Azerbaijan. Talishi Sado is the only newspaper printed in Talish Langauge. After Novruzali Mammadov( was a Talysh national minority activist in Azerbaija died in custody), Hilal Mamedov became a second community leader for the Talysh people.
Instead of finding a common language with youth before the elections, they rather prefer to arrest them... what a century we live in!
